Working together

My role is not to judge, diagnose, or tell you what to do, but to offer a steady, compassionate presence as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, with your wellbeing and your aims for therapy at the centre of the process.

For individuals and couples

I work with both individuals and couples. Whether you are coming on your own or together, the focus is always on understanding what’s happening for you and finding ways to move forward with greater clarity, connection, and ease.

If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, or whether I’m the right therapist for you, you’re very welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation. Sometimes that first step is simply having the space to ask the questions.

How it works

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never done it before. This page is here to answer some of the practical questions and help you feel a little more at ease about what to expect.

Getting started

You’re welcome to get in touch by email or through the contact form by visiting the contact page.

There’s no pressure to know exactly what you want to talk about, that’s something we can explore together.

Initial consultation

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll look at what you’re hoping for from the process and whether working together feels like the right fit.

You can ask any questions you have, and you’re free to take things at your own pace. This is a slightly longer session (75 minutes), as it includes some initial information gathering to help me get a fuller sense of you and your situation.

Ongoing sessions

Sessions are 50 minutes and take place online. Many people choose to meet weekly, especially at the beginning, though this can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Our work together is shaped around you, your experiences, your goals, and what feels most helpful for you at each stage.

Online therapy

All sessions are offered online. You’ll just need a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection. Online therapy can be a flexible, more affordable, and effective way of receiving support, allowing you to access sessions from wherever you feel most comfortable.

Confidentiality

What you share in therapy is confidential. There are a small number of legal and ethical exceptions, which we can talk through during your first session so that everything is clear from the start.

If you’re feeling nervous

It’s completely natural to feel unsure, anxious, or hesitant before your first session. You don’t need to have everything worked out — simply arriving and starting the conversation is enough.

If you’d like to take the next step, you’re very welcome to get in touch. We can arrange a free discovery call and see whether working together feels right for you.
