ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Faye Bennett and I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with extensive experience working with individuals and couples. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I began my clinical career at Tavistock Relationships in London, where I worked for five years before setting up my private practice in 2020. I now work full-time in private practice, offering online therapy.
I have also spent many years working in a corporate environment. This has given me a real understanding of the pressures, expectations, and stresses that many people live with day to day, whether that’s workload, responsibility, performance, or the challenge of balancing work with personal life and relationships.
My core training is in psychodynamic therapy. In simple terms, this means that as well as thinking about what is happening in your life now, we also pay attention to how past experiences and relationships may be influencing how you feel, think, and relate in the present. Often, patterns that once made sense or helped us cope can start to feel stuck or painful, and part of the work is gently making sense of these together.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I think the most important part of therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist and that you feel safe, understood, and able to talk openly at your own pace. I work in a flexible way and tailor how I work to each person or couple, depending on what feels most helpful and supportive for you.
People come to therapy for many different reasons, sometimes because of a specific difficulty or crisis, and sometimes with a more general sense that something doesn’t feel right or feels overwhelming. Whatever brings you, my aim is to offer a calm, confidential, and thoughtful space where we can slow things down, think together, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through. If you have any questions, or want to arrange a session, please do get in touch.
